About the Crosbie Crew

Run with the Crew

The Crosbie Crew is a Melbourne based running group that provides training opportunities and programs for runners of all abilities, geared towards range of events and distances. With sessions to suit everyone, the crew attracts a wide variety of people with one thing in common – an enjoyment of running. Crosbie Crew members are now a familiar sight amongst the running scene in Melbourne as well as further afield. Each year the crew is heavily involved in the iconic Run Melbourne and Melbourne Marathon events, including acting as run leaders for the training programs and as pacers on race days. Expertise is shared freely within the group – shaping training programs, developing skills and inspiring each other to reach new heights. Every year we see new members achieve their running goals and go on to develop a long term passion for the sport. We have a strong association with South Melbourne Athletics Club, which provides our members with the chance to test themselves against runners across Victoria throughout a varied winter cross country program and in the summer track and field season. Have Fun with the Crew

Whilst we train hard and offer plenty of runs and training sessions, there is a fantastic, welcoming and very social side to the Crosbie Crew for those who want to get involved.

Our social scene includes:

  • Breakfast – Following the Saturday and Sunday morning runs
  • Parma Night – After training on the first Tuesday of the month
  • The Crosbie Crew Christmas Party – Annually in December
  • AGM and Hall of Fame Night – Annually in June
  • Melbourne Marathon Rehydration Party – Annually in October (the day of the Melbourne Marathon)
  • Social events around the Great Ocean Road Marathon Festival, the Gold Coast Airport Marathon Festival and the Two Bays Trail Run.

Our Coaches

The Crosbie Crew has 16 accredited coaches who run our coaching program and lead our group runs. Led by Tim and Eric, our coaches have a wide range of backgrounds and running experience, which gives us the ability to cater for runners of all abilities.

Our sessions are varied and fun and it’s up to each of us to decide how hard we want to run and what we want to get out of each session. Whilst we are one of the largest running groups in Victoria, we also have the greatest number of coaches to enable us to meet the needs of our members. If you would like to develop a personal training plan, you only have to ask for support. You will find the coaches decked out in our smart navy blue running t-shirts at every training session. We Support…

CPEC

The Crosbie Crew proudly supports the work of CPEC – Cerebral Palsy Education Centre. Crosbie Crew members have seen first hand the difference early intervention makes to kids with Cerebral Palsy.

CPEC supports children (0-18 years) with Cerebral Palsy and similar conditions. They are a unique and specialised service providing physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology in addition to providing families access to essential equipment they need in their daily lives.

If you would like to make a simple one-off donation, or sign up for a regular payment plan head to the CPEC Website. Alternatively, if you would like help fundraise for them click here for more information.
